DR3710A Ultra-high Pressure Digital Pressure Gauge

Ultra-high Pressure Gauge

The DR3710A ultra-high pressure digital pressure gauge is engineered for the world’s most demanding hydraulic applications. Where analog gauges fail, our advanced thin-film pressure sensor technology delivers exceptional accuracy across three critical ranges: 1600bar, 2000bar, and 2500bar.

Thin-Film Pressure Sensor Technology

The DR3710A utilizes a sputtered thin-film alloy pressure-sensitive element combined with advanced manufacturing processes. The pressure media acts directly on the 17-4PH stainless steel diaphragm, where alloy thin-film strain units form a complete Wheatstone bridge. The alloy material is deposited as a thin-film strain resistor onto the elastic element at the molecular level, creating a molecular bond that “melts” the thin-film resistor with the elastic body. This enables stable operation over a long-term working temperature range of -40°C to +150°C.

During production, each sensor undergoes rigorous high and low-temperature cycling and 2,000 fatigue cycles, ensuring unmatched reliability. The DR3710A features:

  • High accuracy across full pressure range

  • Wide operating temperature range with minimal thermal drift

  • High stability and reliability for continuous operation

  • Excellent vibration, shock, and radiation resistance

The sputtered thin-film pressure-sensitive element is sealed with the stainless steel pressure port using laser welding (or electron beam welding) , creating an integrated encapsulated sensing element. The structural material is 17-4PH stainless steel, guaranteeing long-term stable operation in even the most severe environments.

Built for harsh industrial environments, the DR3710A features a rugged stainless steel housing and a high-definition digital display for clear, immediate readings in any light. It is the perfect choice for hydraulic press monitoring, high-pressure test stands, and waterjet cutting systems.

Worried about connectivity? The DR3710A Ultra-high Pressure Digital Pressure Gauge offers multiple high-pressure process connections, including HP UNF 9/16, G1/2″, 1/2″ NPT and M20×1.5, ensuring a secure, leak-free installation. Stop trusting silent analog needles and start measuring with confidence.

Detailed Connection Guide

1. HP UNF 9/16 Male

Thread code: HP UNF 9/16-MALE

Description:
The HP UNF 9/16 Male connection features external threads following the Unified Fine standard. It is the most common high-pressure port for industrial hydraulic systems.

Best for:

  • Hydraulic press main cylinder connections

  • High-pressure pumps and accumulators

  • Industrial hydraulic power units

  • Systems requiring frequent connection/disconnection

Compatible with:

  • HP UNF 9/16 Female ports

  • Standard UNF 9/16 fittings

Sealing method: Metal-to-metal cone seal or O-ring

2. HP UNF 9/16 Female

Thread code: HP UNF 9/16-FEMALE

Description:
The HP UNF 9/16 Female connection features internal threads. It is typically used on manifolds, valve blocks, or as the receiving port on equipment.

Best for:

  • Manifold mounting

  • Valve block integration

  • Female port on test benches

  • Direct mounting to existing UNF ports

Compatible with:

  • HP UNF 9/16 Male fittings

  • Standard UNF 9/16 male connectors

Sealing method: Cone seal or bonded seal

3. M20 × 1.5

Thread code: M20*1.5

Description:
The M20 × 1.5 is a metric fine thread widely used in European and Asian industrial equipment. It is the standard port for many high-pressure components.

Best for:

  • European-spec hydraulic systems

  • Test and measurement equipment

  • Mobile hydraulics

  • High-pressure test stands

Compatible with:

  • M20 × 1.5 male fittings

  • DIN 3852 / ISO 6149 ports

Sealing method: O-ring or copper washer

4. G1/2 (BSPP)

Thread code: G1/2

Description:
G1/2 (also known as BSPP) is a British Standard Pipe Parallel thread. It is commonly used in water systems, general industrial applications, and lower-pressure hydraulic systems.

Best for:

  • Water treatment equipment

  • General industrial processes

  • Low to medium pressure systems (up to 1000bar)

  • Replacement of standard pressure gauges

Compatible with:

  • G1/2 female ports

  • BSPP fittings

Sealing method: Bonded seal or PTFE tape

Important Notes

Never mix thread types

Do not attempt to connect incompatible threads. Examples of dangerous mismatches:

  • ❌ M20 × 1.5 into G1/2 port (different pitch)

  • ❌ NPT into UNF (different thread angle: 60° vs 60°, but different taper)

  • ❌ BSPT (tapered) into BSPP (parallel) without proper sealing

Result: Leaks, thread damage, or catastrophic failure.

Always verify your equipment port

Before ordering, check:

  1. Existing port thread type (measure with thread gauge)

  2. Port depth (ensure full engagement)

  3. Required sealing method

  4. Pressure rating of existing fittings

FAQ 1: Which connection type should I choose for my hydraulic system?

Question:
*My system currently has an HP UNF 9/16 port. Can I use a gauge with M20 × 1.5 connection?*

Answer:
No, you must match the thread type exactly. Using mismatched threads (e.g., M20 × 1.5 into an HP UNF 9/16 port) will cause leakage, thread damage, or catastrophic connection failure under high pressure.

FAQ 2: What accuracy do I need – 0.2%, 0.5%, or 1.0% FS?

Question:
I am using this gauge on a 2000bar hydraulic press for quality control. Which accuracy option should I select?

Answer:
For hydraulic press quality control, we recommend ±0.5% FS. This provides sufficient precision to detect pressure variations that affect product quality without unnecessary cost.

FAQ 3: Can I use the G1/2 connection for 2500bar applications?

Question:
*I have a G1/2 port on my existing system. Can I order the DR3710A with G1/2 connection for 2500bar operation?*

Answer:
No. The G1/2 (BSPP) connection is rated for maximum 1000bar only. For pressures above 1000bar, you must use HP UNF 9/16 (Male or Female) or M20 × 1.5.
