A marine facility reported that their hydraulic press was cycling slower than expected. The analog gauge showed normal pressure readings, but parts were still coming out of specification. The Physics Behind Analog Gauge Limitations

Bourdon tubes, the traditional mechanism behind many pressure gauges, act as mechanical low-pass filters with natural frequencies around 1-2 Hz.
