The Problem: Analog Gauges Miss Pressure Spikes
In a recent forensic investigation, we found a classic case where an analog pressure gauge failed to respond to rapid changes in an ultra-high-pressure system. The Bourdon tube inside the gauge acts as a mechanical low-pass filter, limiting its ability to detect pressure fluctuations faster than 1-2 Hz. This natural frequency constraint meant that even when the pipe was under intense stress, our analog gauge remained still, missing critical pressure spike detection events.
The Solution: DR3710 Digital Gauge
We installed the DR3710, an ultra high pressure digital gauge designed for 2500bar pressure measurement. Unlike analog gauges, it features digital sampling at 1000Hz, capturing pressure peaks that the analog needle would never see. This high-frequency sampling allows accurate real-time display of transient pressure events.
