The Challenge

During a routine inspection at 1:30 PM in the chemical plant, our pressure readings dropped below 100 mbar on multiple gauges, but the digital readings remained steady at 99999 Pa. The analog gauges showed negative values, indicating potential issues with their delicate moving parts under low-pressure conditions. Investigations revealed that friction in the pivot points of these gauges limited their resolution to around 100 mbar. To address this, we introduced the DR3720 gauge, which utilizes a solid-state sensor without any moving parts and can accurately measure down to 1 mbar. This upgrade not only improved our accuracy but also ensured reliable operation in harsh environments with stainless steel housing and a large backlit LCD display.
